Blizzard Brings Star Craft Character Alexei Stukov to Heroes of the Storm

StarCraft’s Alexei Stukov is coming to Heroes of the Storm in a new update.

Blizzard stated earlier that 2017 would be a good year for supports in Heroes of the Storm. To start, the company announced that they will be introducing Alexei Stukov from the StarCraft Universe. A teaser trailer was released on the official Heroes of the Storm Twiiter page along with the announcement of a gameplay reveal and interview with the developers for tomorrow. As a support character, Alexei has a unique skill set, unlike that of a traditional healer. Alexei has a number of healing and status affecting buffs that he can make use of. His ability to infest his teammates will require players to maintain a tight formation in order to receive the full benefits of his abilities.

According to StarCraft lore, Alexei Stukov was a Terran tactician and a member of the UED (United Earth Directorate) Expeditory Fleet. After being slain in battle, he was resurrected by the Zerg after having his body shot out into space. Alexei Stukov will be joining the long list of existing playable characters within Heroes of the Storm.

Heroes of the Storm is a multiplayer online battle arena game developed by Blizzard. Released in 2015 on PC, Heroes of the Storm revolves around online five-versus-five matches. The game features characters from a number of Blizzards existing franchises including Warcraft, Diablo, StarCraft, The Lost Vikings and Overwatch. Heroes of the Storm uses both free-to-play and freemium payment models, supporting microtransactions in order to get additional heroes, visual alterations for heroes and exclusive mounts. Since its release, Heroes of the Storm has been met with general praise from critics and fans. Heroes of the Storm is operated through Blizzard’s online gaming service, Battle.net.

Blizzard is expected to release additional details about the upcoming character, Alexei Stukov, in the coming weeks.
