Asus Announces the Zenfone 3 lineup 1

Asus unveiled the new Zenfone 3 lineup with the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and ZenFone 3 Ultra at Computex 2016.

Starting with the most basic model, the Zenfone 3 is an aluminium frame phone with Corning 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass on the front and back of the phone. On the front, there is a 5.5 inch 1080p Super IPS+ panel with a 77.3 screen to body ratio.

Regarding camera, it comes equipt with a 16-megapixel shooter on the back with ASUS TriTech autofocus that combines laser autofocus, phase detection and contrast detection to autofocus in just 0.03 seconds.

This year ASUS have opted for a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 over last years Intel offering, and they have also boosted the ram to 4GB. Asus have also put a fingerprint sensor on the back, for good measure.

Moving onto the flagship model in the lineup, the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is a full metal body phone wit no visible antenna lines and 4.2mm edges. It is built around a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 100% NTSC colour gamut and a 79% screen to body ratio.

This new flagship runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with up to 6GB RAM. On the back of the phone, there is a 23 megapixel Sony camera with an f2.0 aperture, 4-axis optical image stabilisation and can shoot 4K video. The camera also has the same TriTech autofocus that is seen on the ZenFhone 3.

Keeping with the flagship feel of the ZenFone 3 Delux, it has USB-C charging, Qualcomm Quick Charge 3 and a fingerprint sensor on the back. For audiophiles or people that love to consume media and games on the go, the phone comes equipt with a five-magnet speaker and Hi-Res Audio support.

The last in the lineup in is the Zenfone 3 Ultra. This is the large offering, with a massive 6.8-inch 1080p Screen. This screen comes in at a 95% of the NTSC colour gamut, has a 79% screen to body ratio and has what Asus calls Tru2Life+ Video technology that uses high-end UHD TV-Grade image processing. The  ZenFone 3 Ultra also has two Five-Magnet speakers, Hi-Res Audio support, and will boast 7.1 channel surround sound with DTS Headphones:x.

On the back of the Ultra, there is the same 23-megapixel shooter that can be found on the Deluxe. The Ultra is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 and will have up to 4GB of RAM. The Ultra will boast a 4600mHh battery that should get anyone through a full day with ease, and on those unusually heavy use days, it also supports Quick Charge 3.0.

Prices for the new ZenFone lineup start at $249 for the ZenFone 3, $499 for the Deluxe, and $479 for the Ultra.
