“Ex Machina” star and recent Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander has signed on to play Lara Croft in the upcoming Tomb Raider reboot, reports Variety.
The reboot is distributed by MGM and Warner Bros, and co-produced by GK Films. The film will follow the plot of the 2013 reboot, following Lara’s origin story. Norwegian director Roar Uthaug will helm the project.
Lara Croft was previously portrayed on screen by Angelina Jolie in 2001 and 2003. The films have grossed a combined $432 million at the box office.
