The Walking Dead Finally Receiving its Final Season Jan 15 Through the Epic Games Store 2

After Telltale games’ closing about a month ago, hopes for The Walking Dead’s final season seemed duly lost, but after some much needed help, the project has successfully turned around – but with an important caveat.

For a project that was to be claimed dead however, it was Epic Games that took part to ensure otherwise. According to a statement given to Polygon by Skybound Games CEO Ian Howe and president of interactive Dan Murray “Epic stepped up to the plate immediately to work with us in order to bring the original team back together and ensure fans will receive the completed season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season“.

Due to this, it was only right that Telltale’s The Walking Dead received a semi exclusivity deal on Epic’s new Epic Games Store. While current holders of the season pass will still receive the last season through normal means (be it their console’s default store or their PC store of choice), those of us who have been patiently waiting for the series concluding chapter will have to resort to Epic’s solution to get ahold of this awarded game package.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season will launch January 15th to console and PC owners but due to this exclusivity deal, won’t be available for sole purchase through Steam or Humble.
