Compulsion Games’ We Happy Few is a survival horror game developed for Xbox One and PC. The game takes place in the fictional English city of Wellington Wells following an alternate timeline of events within The Second World War where society has become a dystopian, drug-fueled society. Citizens of Wellington Wells began taking a hallucinogenic drug called “Joy” which causes happiness but also leaves people being easily controllable and lacking in morality. Players control a character who becomes dubbed as a “Downer” after choosing to stop using the drug and must try to survive long enough to escape the city before its collapse. The game blends together many elements found in RPG and survival and light rouge-like elements. Compulsion Games placed focus on strong narratives and gameplay underlined by a sense of paranoia and morally grey decisions.

We Happy Few’s live-action movie is currently planned for some time in 2019.
