The Half-Shell Heroes Return

The Half-Shell Heroes Return - 2016-01-26 15:13:18

Following a leaked teaser from Platinum Games’ Twitter we finally get to learn more about their next title.

Since playing the somewhat disappointing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows in 2013, I’ve seen the potential a TMNT game can have with a real powerhouse studio behind it. Platinum Games might very well be that studio, having pumped out such fun hack ‘n slashes such as Bayonetta, Bayonetta 2 and Metal Gear Solid: Revengeance.

TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan shows off slick graphics, adopting a cell-shaded art style reminiscent of Mateus Santolouco’s work for the IDW published TMNT comics. Complete with their fresh new look.

The game promises players the ability to go it alone or team up with three other friends online to take on aliens, mutants and the Foot Clan as well as battling iconic baddies such as Bebop, Rocksteady and of course, the Shredder.

The four turtles are supposed to come with their own variety of move sets, differentiating themselves from each other to provide a varied and customizable experience. Combat is promised to be fast-paced, fluid and challenging with team-based brawling at the core.

IDW publishing’s very own Tom Waltz is to be penning an original story for the game, Waltz has been working on the acclaimed ongoing TMNT comic series.

Mutants in Manhattan is slated for a summer release date yet to be announced, it will be available on the PS4, PS3, Xbox one, Xbox 360 and PC in retail stores and digitally online.
