Bioware giving away Mass Effect 2 as a free bonus with Dragon Age 2

“The Bioware Sequel Celebration” will reward anyone who purchases Dragon Age 2 before the end of April with a free copy of Mass Effect 2.

The good folks at Bioware have always had a strong relationship with their customers, so they’ve decided to thank the fans who have supported Dragon Age 2. The company has announced that anyone who buys any copy of Dragon Age 2 and activates the Online Pass by Apr. 30 will receive a code for a free PC download of Mass Effect 2, and all you have to do is enter the code on the Bioware Social Network.

“Thanks to gamers like you, Dragon Age 2 is off to a great start – breaking the one million mark in less than two weeks and faster than Dragon Age: Origins,” the company said. “We appreciate your support. As a special thank you for helping with the game’s early success, BioWare would like to present you with a download code for 2010’s Game of the Year, Mass Effect 2 on PC.”

The free copy of Mass Effect 2 comes with access to the Cerberus Network, which means that players will have access to a slew of downloadable content in addition to the core Mass Effect game. It makes the offer even sweeter, and the only downside – if there is a downside – is that the offer is only good for the PC version of Mass Effect 2. That’s true even if you bought Dragon Age 2 for the Xbox or the PS3. Bioware is also trying to reward people who bought the game new, so you’ll have to purchase a separate Online Pass if you picked up a used version of Dragon Age 2.
